Acyclovir Сream for External Use 5% 10g 

Acyclovir Сream is an antiviral medication for topical use used to treat skin infections caused by herpes viruses.

Ingredients of Acyclovir Сream

The active ingredient is acyclovir:

1 g of cream contains 50 mg of acyclovir.

Other ingredients (excipients) include propylene glycol, glyceryl stearate and macrogol-100 stearate mixture, cetostearyl alcohol, liquid paraffin, soft white paraffin, sodium lauryl sulfate, purified water, hydrochloric acid or sodium hydroxide (to adjust pH if necessary).

Indications Acyclovir Сream

Skin infections caused by the herpes simplex virus types I and II, genital herpes, shingles, and also chickenpox.

Dosage and Administration

Topical. Apply a thin layer to the affected and adjacent skin areas 5 times daily (every 4 hours, except at night). Apply the cream with a cotton swab or clean hands to avoid further infection of the affected areas. It is important to begin treatment as early as possible, preferably at the first signs and symptoms (prodromal or reddened). Treatment can also be started at later stages (papules or blisters).

Therapy should be continued until the blisters crust over or are completely healed. Treatment duration is at least 5 days; treatment can be extended for up to 10 days. If symptoms persist for more than 10 days, consult a doctor.

Use in Children

The dosage regimen for children is the same as for adults.

Special Instructions

Be sure to tell your doctor if:

– You are pregnant;
– You are breastfeeding.

Use this medication only for cold sores on the lips and face. Do not apply to the mucous membranes of the mouth, eyes, or vagina. Do not use to treat genital herpes. Avoid contact with eyes.

If recurrent herpes symptoms are severe, consult your doctor.

Patients with cold sores should avoid transmitting the virus, especially if active lesions are present.

Patients with immunocompromised conditions are not recommended to use this medication.

These patients should follow their doctor’s recommendations when treating any infectious diseases.

This is quite a problem to solve, but just doing without greeking text won't fix it. Using test items of real content and data in designs will help, but there's no guarantee that every oddity will be found and corrected. Do you want to be sure? Then a prototype or beta site with real content published from the real CMS is needed—but you’re not going that far until you go through an initial design cycle.
