Allochol 50 tablets
As part of combination therapy for chronic reactive hepatitis, cholangitis, acalculous cholecystitis, hypokinetic biliary dyskinesia, atonic constipation, and postcholecystectomy syndrome.
Composition of Allochol
Composition per tablet
Active ingredients:
Bovine bile – 80 mg
Garlic bulbs – 40 mg
Stinging nettle leaves – 5 mg
Activated carbon – 25 mg
Excipients: Potato starch, magnesium oxide, talc, colloidal silicon dioxide, calcium stearate
Indications of Allochol
Аor chronic hepatitis, cholangitis, cholecystitis, and habitual constipation associated with intestinal atony.
Dosage and administration of Allochol
Orally, after meals.
Adults: 1-2 tablets 3-4 times daily.
Children over 12 years: 1 tablet 3 times daily.
The course of treatment is 3-4 weeks.
For acute illnesses, take 1 tablet 2-3 times daily for 1-2 months.
You can repeat the course of treatment with Allochol 2-3 times with a break of 3 months.

Pharmacological action
Pharmacodynamics: Allochol is a bile stimulant. Its mechanism of action is mediated by intestinal mucosal reflexes and by Allochol’s effect on liver secretory function. Allochol increases the amount of bile secreted, enhances the secretory and motility functions of the gastrointestinal tract, and reduces intestinal putrefaction and fermentation. Allochol can serve as a replacement therapy for endogenous bile acid deficiency. Pharmacokinetics: Allochol is well absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract. The cholic and chenodeoxycholic acids contained in Allochol undergo 7α-dehydroxylation in the intestine. Chenodeoxycholic acid is also metabolized in the liver: it conjugates with amino acids, is secreted into bile, and is then re-excreted into the intestine, where it is partially reabsorbed; the remainder is excreted in the feces.
Interaction
Drugs containing aluminum hydroxide, cholestyramine, and colestipol reduce absorption (and thus decrease the effect)—concomitant use is not advisable.
